Our focus is on solving device and data interoperability and management problems primarily for the power utility industry. We integrate cyber-security, operational technologies, and distributed system techniques together when developing solutions to these problems.

It is the essential function of Software Developer to ensure developed software meets the product requirements and quality standards necessary to satisfy customer expectations. The Software Developer does this by engaging with the customer or product representative to understand requirements, by creating design and test documentation, and by unit-testing the code.

The Software Developer is a member of the Software team. It is expected that the Software Developer collaborates proactively with the team throughout the software development lifecycle, to achieve a common goal.

Because this is a senior position, it is expected that the Software Developer can provide well experienced programming, design, testing, and troubleshooting knowledge, as well as clear communication to the team.

A successful Software Developer at SUBNET Solutions Inc. is organized, self-motivated, and has a passion for excellence. You will need to work well in a fast-paced environment, traverse various technologies, engineering teams, and client types.

The Software Developer reports to the Development Team Lead.


  • Participate in software development lifecycle procedure development. Responsibilities includes creating design, test, and user documentation, programming, unit-testing, testing and troubleshooting.
  • Write component-level source code.
  • Participate in team meetings and scrum.
  • Assess testing results and adapt team development activities to improve quality.
  • Participate in peer code review.
  • Participate in mentoring junior and intermediate developer.
  • Provide end-user support and assistance.
  • Follow policies and procedures.



  • BSc in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 4-year experience in software development.
  • 3-year experience in C++ development.
  • 2-year experience in C# development.
  • 4-year experience in software development lifecycles.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio IDE.
  • Proficient knowledge of unit testing.
  • Proficient understanding of git.
  • Proficient in oral and written English.


  • Experience in SCADA and Network protocol development.
  • Experience with modern C++. C++14 or later.
  • Microsoft Certification (MCP) or equivalent certification in relevant programs.
