SUBNET’s Solution Architect’s essential function is to support the Account Manager(s) throughout the sales cycle including creating and developing on-going business relationships with SUBNET client’s senior managers, VPs, technical supervisors and engineers. He/she will also provide technical support and guidance on SUBNET products and services and provide our customers comprehensive solutions that will meet their needs and solve their technical issues.

To be successful in this role, Solution Architects will begin their employment at SUBNET with on-the-job training of services-related work for the first year.


This position is accountable for the following outcomes/results:

  • Develop and execute a clearly defined solutions sales strategy that will address customer’s technical needs and requirements.
  • Accurately capture customer technical information including existing technical architecture, technical requirements, future needs, and existing pain points.
  • Translate business and user requirements into accurate system requirements/specification documents, through systems and data analysis, while managing traceability of satisfaction criteria throughout the project delivery.
  • Deliver engineering design, installation, commissioning and instruction support services for substation and enterprise based solutions using SUBNET products with minimal supervision.
  • Provide product demonstrations, RFI responses, and sales support for RFP/RFQ responses.
  • Act as the solution expert and point of contact on site at the customer location.
  • Ownership of aspects of project test plans including the creation, performance and customer acceptance.
  • Creating of technical abstracts and white paper outlines and content for presentations at conferences and tradeshows.
  • Support SUBNET training program development and maintenance through the identification and creation of new courses and the upgrading of existing courses.
  • Maintain a current understanding of industry trends and innovation to influence the SUBNET product roadmap.


Required Skills:

  • BSc in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Experience in Microsoft 2016 environments.
  • Remote Desktop Services/Citrix experience.
  • Minimum of five years of field experience.
  • Experience with the design and delivery of substation automation, distribution automation and SCADA systems.
  • Experience with SCADA communications including client/server communication protocols, polling methods, communication architectures and networking technologies.
  • The ability to work and travel for domestic and international projects.
  • Extremely effective public speaking skills and presence.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Advanced ability to resolve complex problems and work with innovative solutions.
  • Strong working knowledge of SDLC practices and procedures.
  • In-depth understanding of corporate technical and commercial strengths and interrelationships with markets.
  • Highly developed business acumen.
  • The ability to travel for domestic and international projects.
  • Eligibility obtain the appropriate visa required to travel, work, and execute projects internationally.


  • Ability to communicate both verbally and written in languages across Central/South America.
  • Minimum of one-year pre-sales experience.
  • Experience across the utility/power market.
  • Proficiency in the installation, configuration, and lifecycle management of the full OSI Soft PI Product Suite.
  • Project Management certification (PMP, ITIL).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint and CRM.
