At upcoming industry conference, SUBNET to speak about smart grid benefits
SUBNET Solutions Inc | Thursday, May 26, 2011
In July, Detroit, Michigan, will play host to a conference, the IEEE Power & Energy Society General Meeting, that will bring together professionals from a wide array of disciplines who will discuss the field of electrical power engineering. SUBNET will attend the conference and experts from the company are slated to talk about improving the reliability of the smart grid.
According to industry experts, one of the biggest benefits that will come from investment into the development of the smart grid is the ability of utilities to more effectively monitor and control the electricity supply. If, for example, a power outage is reported, the smart grid would allow a utility to quickly identify and patch the supply disruptions. Now, many utilities are often powerless to immediately fix and patch power outages.
The upcoming conference will bring together practicing power engineers, executives, policy makers and academics from around the world. At the meeting of industry experts, attendants will discuss the various issues in the electrification of transportation, as well as the future of the smart grid in the U.S.
SUBNET will speak at the event about the benefits that a company can receive by archiving both fault file data and non-SCADA data in a data historian.
