Intel cyber security promo video includes SUBNET software

SUBNET Solutions Inc | Tuesday, April 17, 2012

In a new promotional video, Intel demonstrates its cyber security features and how they can be installed on substations, and discusses how SUBNET products are used during the process.

As utilities begin to install the substations of tomorrow, they are confronted with two conflicting ideas: Creating an efficient intelligent network and remaining safe from unauthorized access. In order to protect modern electric infrastructure from cyber attack, systems must not only be resistant to these threats, but also have the capability to recover in the event the system is compromised.

In the new video, an Intel solution architect and system engineer show how a mashup of systems and technologies can work to keep a utility's system as safe as possible, and explain how SUBNET products ensure system integrity.

"So to summarize our demonstration, we have shown how a suite of technologies from Intel and McAfee, the engineering of the embedded flexible automation platforms of SEL and the software from SUBNET have come together to secure your substation critical infrastructure," concluded Dean Samara-Rubio, Intel solution architect.

SUBNET, a leader in vendor agnostic substation automation and IT networking, works closely with Intel and Intel's McAfee-Nitro Security to deliver secure solutions for the electrical transmission and distribution industry.
