Lone Star State readies for DistribuTECH 2012

Starting January 24, San Antonio, Texas, will be host to DistribuTECH 2012, the largest U.S. conference on the smart grid, which will be held at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center until Thursday, January 26.
According to My San Antonio, the conference will allow experts to exchange information about the smart grid and showcase new technologies that will contribute to a more energy efficient grid and allow utilities to manage their substation assets more easily.
Keynote presentations will be given by executives and representatives from utilities across North America, including CPS Energy CEO Doyle Beneby.
SUBNET Solutions Inc. will be involved in three presentations during the conference. The first will be given by John Stewart of the Tennessee Valley Authority, a SUBNET customer, who will discuss physical and cyber security strategies the utility used in implementing transmission, distribution and wind automation systems.
Wojtek Czyz of SUBNET will give a presentation on Snohomish County's advanced substation management techniques as well as a second paper that discusses TID Water & Power's automated wind turbine curtailment project.
