SUBNET develops webinar to optimize SEL hardware

SUBNET Solutions Inc | Thursday, March 22, 2012

SUBNET Solutions Inc. is preparing a webinar designed to help utilities unleash the full power of SEL hardware without having to replace it.

While many utilities believe substation hardware must be replaced in order to make room for smart grid improvements, the truth is smart grid systems can be installed onto substations without any replacement at all. In SUBNET's free one-hour online presentation, the solutions provider will explain how to use existing SEL hardware to develop a technologically advanced substation.

By the end of the webinar, participants will know how to concurrently poll several different substation devices and how to see all substation device data in one location. The webinar will cover using existing SEL hardware to interface with disparate devices and explain how to effectively troubleshoot issues with device data communications. SUBNET will also show utilities how to leverage the newest technology using existing SEL hardware.

During the webinar, utilities can learn to reduce the challenges of replacing substation hardware, make complying with NERC CIP less stressful, add intelligence to older relays, simplify substation architecture and access event files to quickly resolve faults and disturbances.

The free webinar will take place on Wednesday, April 25, at 1 p.m. EDT, and will cater to substation technicians, relay technicians and protections engineers, communications technicians and anyone who commissions new substation devices. You can register for the event here:
